Stevie Wonder-3-819x1024Stevie Wonder quit MoTown in 1970 and made two albums by himself. Berry Gordy was shocked to hear this by Stevie Wonder and Berry Gord signed Stevie Wonder's offer of more freedom and full creative control and the rights to all his songs. In 1972 Stevie Wonder returned to MoTown records and signed a thirteen million dollar deal with MoTown Records. Stevie Wonder was entitled to an increased royalty rate as well as more creative control and rights to his songs. It was a rare chance for artists of the time. Wonder's songs could now discuss controversial topics such as war, poverty, and drugs. The first album he made under his new deal with MoTown was, Music Of My Mind in 1972. Talking Book, Stevie Wonder's 1972 album, is a landmark in the history of music. This album included the biggest hit single, Superstition.
