Mitchell experienced a difficult experience with the loss incident, and Angela was the inspiration behind Mitchell's track Angel on her debut album. Her book Chicken Soup of the Preteen Soul along with her 7th Heaven episode, Nothing Endures But Change also mentions the incident.
